Travel information for Switzerland

Speed limits:

• In urban areas: 50 km/h
• Out of town: 80 km/h
• Freeways: 120 km/h

 

Toll charges: In Switzerland, a vignette is required to use the highways. This is already included in the rental with Hertz Switzerland. 

Blood alcohol limit: The legal alcohol limit is 0.5 per mille. For novice drivers in the first three years, a limit of 0.1 per mille applies.

Compulsory headlights: During the day, dipped headlights must be used on all roads.

Seat belts: The wearing of seat belts is compulsory for all occupants.
