Checklist before departure

By following these steps, you can protect yourself from potential disputes and ensure a smooth rental experience.

Exterior:

• Overall: Capture in a video or with pictures the entire car from multiple angles
• Wheels: Focus on each wheel for any scratches or damage
• Body: Inspect for dents, dings, or paint chips and compare them with the pre-inspection form

Interior:

• Dashboard: Check that the gas tank is full
• Trunk cover: Make sure the trunk cover is in the car
• Motorway vigniette: There is no physical vigniette. all Hertz cars have an e-vigniette for swiss motorways

Electric Vehicles (EVs):

• Charging Cable: Make sure the charging cable is in the car.
• Charging Port: Inspect for any issues.

Tips:

• Video: Record a short video, panning around the car for a comprehensive view BEFORE you move the car
• Documentation: Keep a copy of the video or photos for reference
• Report Issues: If you find any damage or missing parts, report it to the rental company immediately
