Additional driver

In addition to the main driver, you have the option of registering other persons as authorized drivers of your rental car for a fee. These persons must identify themselves at the Hertz counter and meet the same requirements as the main driver, i.e. they must be at least 19 years old (certain vehicle categories: 25 years old) and have been in possession of a valid Driver's license for at least one year (certain vehicle categories: three years), which must also be presented at the counter. If an additional driver is registered who is younger than 25 years of age, a young driver surcharge will apply. This also applies if the main driver is at least 25 years old. 

The registration of additional drivers is also possible after the start of the rental. Simply visit a Hertz station in Switzerland.
